Volunteer as a Gallery Ambassador of Base Camp Studios (Gallery ABC)!

Base Camp Studios (BCS) is a creative community rooted in the heart of Belltown, Seattle. Located in two long-vacant buildings, BCS offers studio space to a wide range of artists, designers, and makers, along with two galleries that regularly feature exhibitions, installations, and collaborative events.

Our mission is to provide inclusive, affordable, and inspiring spaces where Seattle-based creatives can work, connect, and grow in community. By fostering collaboration and visibility, BCS aims to help revitalize the downtown core with creativity and strengthen the city’s wider arts ecosystem—making space not just for art, but for community.

Gallery ABCs

We’re looking for friendly, proactive, and community-minded volunteers to welcome and engage visitors during our regularly scheduled gallery hours. Ideally, you enjoy viewing, talking, and learning about art, building community, and supporting artists. Volunteers are critical to help keep our gallery spaces open to the public — creating room for new opportunities, ideas, and future programming. The more support we have, the cooler things we can do!  

As an Ambassador you will: 

• Open/Close the Gallery

• Greet guests; foster a safe, friendly, fun atmosphere 

• Sell art

• Receive, Return, Hand-off art during gallery transition periods

• Other minor asks as needed during shift

Requirements

• You are 18+ years old (21+ for some events)

• Able to attend an in-person orientation

• Aligned with BCS values of community, collaboration, and inclusivity
  

Time Commitment

• Attend a one-time, 2-hour orientation - held in-person every third Thursday of the month

• Volunteer 4 hours a month at one of our gallery locations - shifts are typically Friday-Sunday in 2-4 hour blocks, event dependent.

How to Volunteer

1. Sign Up: Fill out our Gallery ABC Interest Form

2. Attend Orientation: Choose your date in the form

3. Start Volunteering: After the orientation we will provide a link for shift sign-ups
